Conservation Volunteer Program

Under Department of Defense guidelines, HSAAP has authority to utilize volunteers from the general public to assist with the installation’s natural resources program. These individuals, known as Conservation Volunteers, may be utilized to assist with a wide variety of natural resources work on the installation. Types of work with which volunteers may assist include: planting trees for reforestation projects, conducting bird surveys, cleaning out nest boxes, assisting with implementation of the installation’s hunting and fishing programs, etc. Individuals interested in becoming a volunteer may be required to obtain, and submit, a state background check prior to being accepted to serve as a Conservation Volunteer on the installation.
